FAITH DEVELOPMENT

Point 101  Church Family Orientation:  All joining the membership of Northpoint Community are asked to enroll in this class.  The class will focus on the Vision, Purposes, and Strategies of the church.  The class is designed for a 2 hour session that is presented by Pastor Al.

Point 102   Small Group:  "Discovering Jesus":  All are invited to share in a small group study focused on the life of Jesus and what his ministry and mission means to the world today.  This is a faith development class that is at the heart of what it means for us to be the church.  Through this study the participant will celebrate his/her relationship in Christ with others and grow in a fuller understanding of who Jesus is to them.  This is an excellent class for parents to enroll in.  Parents will be prepared to share this simple and basic study about Jesus with their children at home.  There are 5 sessions to this study.  Group leaders, trained by Pastor Al, will present this "in home" class.  No more than 10 people will form a group.

Point 103  Small Group:  "Discover the Bible":  All are invited to share in a small group study focused on understanding how the Bible is organized.  The participant will develop a better grasp of Bible history, become familiar with different Bible helps, and will feel more at ease attending other Bible studies after attending this class.  This is an excellent class for parents desiring to teach their children the basics about the make up of the Bible.  Short devotions lead the student to understand how the Bible is organized.  There are 5 sessions to this study.  Group leaders, trained by Pastor Al, will present this "in home" class.  No more than 10 people will form a group.

Point 104  Vital Christianity:    This class offers a look at the main teachings of the Bible.  This class is essential for those wishing to be participants in the ministry and mission of Northpoint Community.  All members are strongly urged to attend.  This class is taught by Pastor Al.  There will be 6 one hour sessions over a period of 6 weeks.  The lessons focus on the Bible, The Trinity, justification by grace through faith, spiritual gifts, the priesthood of all believers, the sacraments, and discipleship.

CHURCH DEVELOPMENT

  Point 201   "The Purpose Driven Church"   The Purpose Driven Church class studies Rick Warren's book.  Every church is driven by something.  Tradition, finances, programs, personalities, events, and even buildings can be the controlling force in a church.  For a church to be healthy though there is something else that is far more important than these things.  Churches that want to be healthy need to discover this.  Rick Warren leads the way to see the Bible's answer to spiritual health for congregations and its people.  Those enrolling in this class will need to purchase the book "The Purpose Driven Church".  The class has 6 sessions and is completed in 6 weeks.  Pastor Al teaches this class.

Point 202  "The Purpose Driven Life"  This is a small group study that lasts 40 days.  A small group forms and meets for 6 sessions.  The first meeting is a time of sharing and prayer led by Pastor Al.  Each day the participant reads a short devotion based on the purposes of God.  After each week of study the group meets and shares insights and faith and then joins in prayer.  A Group leader trained by Pastor Al, will lead the discussion and prayer time.  This study will change your life and it is highly recommended for all members of the Northpoint Community.

LIFE DEVELOPMENT

Point 301  The Theology of Mission  Pastor Al holds out the theology behind developing a church that is grounded in mission.  The class is designed for 8 study sessions.  Through this class the participant will develop a clearer understanding of their personal involvement in God's mission and will be moved to participate in it with greater joy, fervor, and enthusiasm.  This class is very helpful to the individual who seeks to grow in understanding their own personal ministry and mission in life.

Point 302   "The 21^st Century Disciple: Ministry"  This class helps the participant to understand his or her own giftedness and the importance of the gifts God has given them for the work of His Church.  Ministry is about serving and understanding that like a body is made up of many parts, so is the church, and each is very important to the whole.  This class has 3 sessions, each an hour long.  Leaders, trained by Pastor Al, will help individuals grow in seeing their own personal ministry and its importance to the life of Christ's church.

Point 303  "The 21^st Century Disciple:  Mission"    Mission is about outreach.  It is different than ministry.  In the class the participant will grow in understanding the importance of outreach and having a personal testimony of faith to share.  The participant will grow in confidence and enthusiasm for sharing the message of Christ.  This class has 3 sessions, each an hour long.  Leaders, trained by Pastor Al, will help individuals grow in sharing their faith.
