August 15  "Integrate all of Life"  Today the focus will be on stress...stress that comes from a life that is out of balance...from a life that is trying to balance too many balls.  Putting balance back in life will be the focus.  The starting point for an integrated life is a relationship with God.  Whatever is most important to us sets the agenda for our lives.  Only God can give us the meaning of life we are looking for and thereby  bring peace internally.  Read Mark 12:28-38

August 22 "Zero in on Caring for Others"  We need people.  People are tremendously important.  Much of the beauty and richness of life comes from our relationships with people.  God callus us to special healthy, supportive relationships with people.  The message today is on building relationships.  Jesus brings us what we need to make that happen.  Read John 15:12-13

August 29 "Energize Internally"  When it is all said and done, what is the one thing that keep you going in life?  What keeps you motivated?  Energized?  What gives your life meaning and purpose when nothing around you seems to be working?  What is your source of strength?  That is the focus today.  Answer:  All that God gives you in Jesus...and that I will explain!  Read Revelation 3:20

                                                       FALL SERMON SERIES

September 5  "Work"  This is Labor Day weekend and it is good to focus on the importance of our work and give thanks for being able to work.  Are you working harder and enjoying it less?   Today we are going to be reminded of the importance of work in our lives.  God's plan is that we not only pay the bills, but that we discover meaning and fulfillment by what we do.   This is what we will talk about today...finding contentment in our jobs.  Read Philippians 4

September 12 "Jesus and My Job"  Today we welcome Mark Rounds again in order for him to share his personal testimony regarding the importance of work.

September 19  Today is a special Sunday. We have been asked to host a worship service for North Lake's Annual Harvestfest Celebration.   It is because of this that there will be only ONE WORSHIP SERVICE this Sunday...and it will be outside...and it will be at 9:00 am...and the whole community will be invited.  It is a great opportunity for us to share with the community.  Let's make a BIG showing by way of our personal attendence and make sure we talk to others about what God is doing at NorthPoint.  Pastor Al will speak on "What Matters Most"  Read I Corinthians 13 and 2 John 1:6

September 26 begins a whole new sermon series.   It is an eleven week series.   What are your values?  Your values are your core beliefs that shape everything you do.  In this opening sermon we discover that it does matter what you believe.  Some people say it doesn't, but that is just not true.  Your beliefs determine your behavior and your behavior determines what you become.  If you don't have standards built on the truth you have a crumbling foundation for your life.  Your values must be built on the truth for real success, significance, and salvation.  This is what God provides for us...the truth...so we can have core beliefs that will make a difference in our life.  In the coming week's we will consider these values.  Today we consider the TRUTH!  Read Romans 1:20-25;  Ephesians 4:17-19;  Proverbs 29:18;  2 Timothy 3:16;  Psalm 119:105

October 3   Personal Responsibility  What if I were to ask you:  What is your greatest ability?  You might respond with words describing how you ski or how you can work on cars or how you can make clothing or paint, but you know what, it would be my hope that your greatest ability is your responsibility.  Respondsibility is the ability to respond to life.  We have to do that more than anything else and that is why God speaks to us so much about it.  Our choices, our response, means everything to him.   Read Hebrews 4:13; Ephesians 5:15  Eccl. 7:4; Matthew 12:36

October 10   Growing in Trust  -  Who do you trust?  We are in a trust crisis these days!  Everybody is sckeptical about everyone.  When the level of trust goes down, the level of stress goes up so this is a great problem, and that is why God comes with this message today.  He calls us to put our trust in Him.  Today we hear about the importance of growing in trust and how to do it so the stress of life goes down.  Read Hebrews 2:18; Isaiah 44:20; Psalm 115:8; Proverbs 3:5; Mark 5:36

October 17   Controlling Yourself -  Not too many people want to talk about self-control.   Being self-controlled means discipline, and ever since we were kids we have not been too excited about discipline.  But here is the reality:  Anything that is uncontrolled will eventually destroy you.  Eating, drinking, sex, television, chocolate, spending...anything left uncontrolled in life will not be good for you!  That is the point!  Today we will focus on something that many of us have a real problem with and that is our anger.  Proverbs says "A hot tempered person gets into all kinds of trouble."  God wants to address that in your life.  He comes to give you waht you need so you can get your anger under control.  And by the way, anger is not necessarily bad.  It just needs to be disciplined.  Read Ephesians 4:26; Proverbs 25:28, 29:11; and Col. 3:15
